Dr. Brian Blick was then accepted into medical school at Ross University School of Medicine where he graduated in 2013. Dr. Blick then attended anesthesiology residency at the University of Kansas and graduated in 2017. After graduating from his residency program, Dr. Blick and his wife, Lauren, moved to Elk City where he began practicing as Chief of Anesthesia at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center and started the Western Oklahoma Pain Specialists (now known as Comprehensive Spine and Pain) practice shortly after. Dr. Blick’s dedication to his patients helped grow his practice all over western and central Oklahoma spanning as far north as Woodward, as far south as Lawton, and the north and south sides of Oklahoma City.
In addition to Comprehensive Spine and Pain, Dr. Blick started Western Oklahoma Anesthesia Consultants, where he staffed and employed anesthesia providers for eight hospitals. Through the years Dr. Blick realized his main passion was interventional pain. During his first five years in private practice he worked full time as a general anesthesiologist and pain interventionalist. However, as his practice grew, he was forced to choose one specialty, and he chose his true passion– interventional pain. Upon making this decision, he wanted to ensure he was trained in the most cutting-edge pain therapies available for his patients. Therefore, he made the difficult decision to return to training and complete an ACGME accredited pain fellowship at Louisiana State University in 2022.
In Dr. Blick’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. He also enjoys exercising, sports, traveling, playing the guitar, and Oklahoma football. Dr. Blick is also the current president of the Oklahoma Pain Society.
